
Interns are an integral part of the Corrigan Krause team from day one. Our interns get a well-rounded, tax and audit experience, from basic work papers through completing personal and business returns, and they can work with real clients.
Derek Odelli, Assurance Intern
Derek Odelli joined Corrigan Krause as an intern in our assurance department this January. Prior to kicking off busy season, he met his busy season buddy Anna Cvitkovich, a senior assurance associate, in December at the intern welcome event at our Westlake office. Every busy season intern at Corrigan Krause is paired with a buddy – a younger professional ready to mentor the next generation of public accountants.
“Anna has helped guide me through the process of being in the Assurance department,” Derek said. “She has provided valuable training for daily operations as an intern and set me up from the beginning on a great track. Any time I am stuck on an issue, she is very receptive to hearing me out and giving me the thought process to obtain my goals.”
Derek’s favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause has been the is the environment. “Everyone here makes me feel included and a part of the team. I appreciate the flexibility as well. Everyone here was super helpful with the process and gave me the time to regather myself and figure out my next steps.”
His advice to students looking for the internship for next busy season is to ask all the questions you have, but spread them out across the department. “Don’t go to the same person every time, if you haven’t made a connection with someone in the department, go to them and ask your question. I think this has helped me branch out to meet more people and feel more comfortable asking different questions.”
Amanda LaPlante, Tax Intern
Amanda LaPlante joined Corrigan Krause as an intern in our tax department this January. Prior to kicking off busy season, she met her busy season buddy Montell Martin, a tax supervisor, in December at the intern welcome event at our Westlake office. Every busy season intern at Corrigan Krause is paired with a buddy – a younger professional ready to mentor the next generation of public accountants.
“Montell is a wealth of knowledge that is great to learn from,” Amanda said. “He is a great resource and is always willing to help.”
Amanda’s favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause has been the “overwhelming amount of knowledge” our team has and is ready to share.
Her advice to students looking for the internship for next busy season is simple, “Don’t get overwhelmed. This is such a great experience and is over before you know it.”
Nora Cuthertson, Tax Intern
Nora Cuthbertson joined Corrigan Krause as an intern in our tax department this January. Prior to kicking off busy season, she met her busy season buddy Emily Robb, a tax senior associate, in December at the intern welcome event at our Westlake office. Every busy season intern at Corrigan Krause is paired with a buddy – a younger professional ready to mentor the next generation of public accountants.
“Emily has taught me the majority of what I’ve learned at CK,” Nora said. “She is patient with my endless questions and encourages me to be confident in my own skills and knowledge. She has also helped remind me that time outside of work is just as important as the busy tax work during the day.”
Nora’s favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause has been the “the hands-on learning and continuing education, whether with another staff member, my buddy, or in weekly trainings. Individual learning and development are a huge part of the internship.”
Her advice to students looking for the internship for next busy season is to say YES about learning anything and everything. “Ask questions and get involved with as many topics and areas as possible. My philosophy when I started was to ‘be a sponge’, and I would encourage all future interns to do the same.”
Joseph Bub, Tax Intern
Joseph Bub joined Corrigan Krause as an intern in our tax department this January. Prior to kicking off busy season, he met his busy season buddy Jesse Nadinic, a tax associate, in December at the intern welcome event at our Westlake office. Every busy season intern at Corrigan Krause is paired with a buddy – a younger professional ready to mentor the next generation of public accountants.
“Jesse has been a life saver for me,” Joseph said. “He always explains everything very well to where I can understand it, and he gives very good feedback about my work so I can do better.”
Joseph’s favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause has been learning more about the world of accounting, networking with accounting professionals, and expanding his knowledge.
His advice to students looking for the internship for next busy season is to stay organized. “Keep a list of what you have done, so you can reference your work if you need to go back to it.”
Rachel Michelich, Tax Intern
Rachel Michelich joined Corrigan Krause as an intern in our tax department this January. Prior to kicking off busy season, she met her busy season buddy Beth Heidinger at our Medina office. Every busy season intern at Corrigan Krause is paired with a buddy – a professional ready to mentor the next generation of public accountants.
“Beth has helped me experience and learn many aspects of the administrative side of accounting and has helped guide me every step of the way,” Rachel said.
Rachel’s favorite part about interning at Corrigan Krause has been the people. “I love getting to know everyone around the offices and hearing about their experiences!”
Her advice to students looking for the internship for next busy season is to never be afraid to ask questions. “Even in the busiest times of busy season, everyone around you is more than willing to help out and answer any questions you may have, even if they are in a different department than you!”
